I am trying to set up a dial in connection on Red Hat box and it just
isn=92t working. I am running Picasso and using the version of getty_ps
that came with it. To the best of my knowledge, I have to set up
uugetty to monitor the serial port my modem is connected to (in this
case an internal USRobotics sportster on ttyS3 which is COM4 on IRQ7). =
I think I have done this, but after restarting the machine I don=92t see
uugetty running when I type ps -ax. The modem doesn=92t answer the phone=
either. I know the modem works, because I can dial out with minicom and
dial in under dos. I have included selections from my /etc/inittab ,
/etc/gettydefs , and /etc/default/uugetty.ttyS3 files. I modified these
files from the examples for the getty_ps package that came with my
distribution. Any hints or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
