I've got one of the 3.2G ditto drives installed in my computer. I
can't get it to write TR-3's. The drive is connected to the floppy
controller. (For now. I plan on installing the high-speed adapter
whenever I can free up one of my ISA slots.)

I can read QIC-80's with no problem at all. I've tried both tar and
cpio (under Colgate) without success. The message from my log are:

Nov 2 14:35:45 cam203g kernel: [000] fdc-io.c (fdc_config) - Using
the standard fdc controller.
Nov 2 14:35:45 cam203g kernel: [001] fdc-io.c (fdc_probe) - Type
82077AA compatible FDC found.
Nov 2 14:35:46 cam203g kernel: [002] ftape-ctl.c
(ftape_activate_drive) - drive wakeup method: Colorado.
Nov 2 14:35:46 cam203g kernel: [003] ftape-ctl.c
(ftape_get_drive_status) - error status set.

- Warning: tape is not formatted !.
Nov 2 14:35:49 cam203g kernel: [005] ftape-io.c
(ftape_report_configuration) - post qic-117b spec drive with unknown
tape.
Nov 2 14:35:50 cam203g kernel: [006] ftape-io.c
(ftape_report_configuration) - post qic-117b spec drive with unknown
tape.
Nov 2 14:35:50 cam203g kernel: [007] kernel-interface.c (ftape_open) -
_ftape_open failed.
Nov 2 14:36:03 cam203g kernel: [008] ftape-ctl.c (ftape_init_drive)
- Warning: tape is not formatted !.

However, this is a preformatted tape. I've also tried the mt erase
command, but it also won't write to the drive. I can tell it's trying
--- the led on the drive lights while the system is communicating with
it. But I can't get anywhere. Can someone out there is RH land who's
using this drive successfully give me a hand, please? Thanks!
