I'm talking about the settings in the script
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-ppp0 . This gets called in ifup
(this filename is passed as the first parameter to ifup, in order to tell
it that the ppp interface should be brought up). Because the ampersand
isn't escaped, a command like INITSTRING=AT&F1 causes problems.
