Howdy there.. i'm pretty new to Linux myself. I also got the RH4 4.0 and
had a few minor (cough cough) difficulites installing it on my system.
I have a Pentium 166
32 EDO ram
Imagine 128-series2 w/4mb
SB awe
Adaptec SCSI 2940UW
Seagate Barracuda (win95)
Conner 1.35gig (linux)
etx..
the first major problem i had was LILO..after installing it got to 'L' and
then did a repeat of 01 01 01.. did a little searching and figured out
that since the conner drive was on the lun id of 0:5 and lilo will only
work with either 0:0 or 0:1, it gave me that error.. So, here i am, at
3am and looking for a screwdriver so i can give the conner a 0:1 ID since
the barracuda is 0:0 and for my win95.
Now my main problem is running Xwindows.. but the problem is that they
don't have my card listed in the configuration..
I read in your post that you used MetroX.. can you explain how you went
about installing that? i did a little searching and they said that MetroX
might have some compatible drivers so that i can use my imagine card w/
xwindows.
anyways i look hearing from you and i'm sure that i can learn a lot from
your experiences..
