I had this after installing and compiling a new same-release
kernel-source rpm also. My solution was to delete the offending
module files. Since they are no longer needed by the kernel, they
won't be missed. (It worked.)

This is not particularly elegant.

Now, concerning your other error message:

Here, your kernel is trying to start a network protocol module which
is not present. This is harmless, but to disable it, see the kernel
module documentation (/usr/src/linux/Documentation, I believe).

Happy Linuxing!
