| Has anyone tried using MetroX with the S3 Virge 3D video card? I'm
| planning to buy a 4Meg card, just want to make sure before making the
| investment. I believe it has the Trio 64 chipset...

S3 Virge is the name of the chipset. It is not compatible with the
Trio 64. It does not work with MetroX- you'll have to buy
AcceleratedX. And in my experience, it isn't very fast either (a
friend of mine bought a machine with a ViRGE-based graphics card)- my
one year old Imagine 128 runs rings around it, even when running at
higher resolutions with more colors than the ViRGE.
