Mark & Dean,
The machine in question is a 4-processor ALR box, purchased before I
started working here. I believe the Mylex controller is on the
motherboard, otherwise I would replace it. It would be a shame, it is a
nice controller. I did try uncommenting the SMP=1, the machine would hang
on boot-up (NT sees the other CPU's). This was a 1.3.xx kernel so things
may have improved since then. The NFS advice sounds good... will try.
