First I was forced to use "make config" because "make menuconfig" was broken
and "make xconfig" didn't seem to have options for configuring the sound cards.

When I finally produced a kernel and booted with it I received the following
message an infinite number of times.

scsi0: Will send WDTR!!
Target 0, channel A, using 16 bit transfers
       Received MSG_WDTR, Target 0, channel A needwdtr(0xffea).

or something very close to this. Can anyone tell me what I did wrong?
Important drivers I compiled into the Kernel were the driver for the Adaptec
2940UW SCSI controller, that for the 3com 3c590 ethernet card and that for
the Soundblaster 16 sound card.
