I also find Metro X good for some things and bad for others. My dad has 
an old WinBook laptop that wouldn't run with the generic XF86 servers 
(not even mono), but when he put RH 3.03 and the included version of 
Metro-X on there, Metro-X worked great. However, this is the only system 
I've ever seen it run well on (it doesn't work with my PCI Mach32).
