It can be when you use LinuxConf, which is poorly documented and gives you
no clue as to what's going wrong. I'd advise you to work through the PPP
HOWTO (NOT the PPP-Client HOWTO, which is 2 years out of date and
incomplete) and edit the scripts directly. That way you learn how it works
and you can always change to LinuxConf's methods later.
