I have had an ongoing problem that seems to be NT based. I am running a
Linux Server (DNS, DHCP, Samba etc.) and Windows NT Clients. When I
attach
the workstation to the network it is assigned an IP via DHCP and can
access
the internet but when I go to "Network Neighborhood" I only see the
computers running NetBEUI. Any computer that is running TCP/IP only
(i.e.
all the Linux & Irix machines) cannot be seen in Network Neighborhood
but I
can ping them and can access them by creating a shortcut to the machine.
This only happens on certain machines and is very intermittent. Is this
a known problem w/ NT attached to Unix networks?
Please email me directly......
Thanks
Rob
