reboot is in /sbin, hence not in a users path.

to fix, either type /sbin/reboot or better still use "su -" instead of "su
root".  since you're going to root you don't need to type a username, and
the hyphen causes it to process the login files (.profile, .bashrc or
whatever) causing the path to be set to what root would expect.
