I can't seem to get fetchmail when it is run from cron to write
it's messages to the log file. I have used the command
set logfile "/var/log/logfile"
Here is my .fetchmailrc file:

 # Configuration created Sun Nov 29 11:45:53 1998 by fetchmailconf
set logfile "/var/mail/maillog"
set postmaster "kabir"
poll pop.citenet.net with proto POP3 port 110:
  user kabir is kabir there pass PuOnYu fetchall no keep;

Here is /var/log/maillog permission:

maillog Nov 30 10:00 root/root  -rwSr-Srw-
The directories have the same permission sequence too,so it should
write messages to it,but it doesn't. Can anyone help ?

Larry M.
