My first email question to Red Hat has gone unanswered for some time
(other than the auto response), and I probably won't bother sending
them another. I have had almost 100% unsatisfactory support from an
vendor of any size. Almost all good support has come from other users.

I have a couple of Linux books on the way which I hope will give me a
good grounding in the OS. In the meantime I have asked some basic
questions on this list and the redhat list. I have never been flamed
with a "RTFMan" or other condescending remark and for that I am very
grateful.

I resent it that I still have to use Microsoft's operating systems,
and until recently I thought that Linux would just be a recreation for
me (standalone desktop user). However, as I learn more about Linux
and experience the helpfulness of the Linux community, it gives me
hope that some day I'll be able to delete the last MS product from my
computers.
