I don't have any experience with PCMCIA cards, but I have been using
many DEC 21140 PCI cards which use the tulip driver. The documentation
for this driver also mentions 21143 support. I just checked the
/usr/doc/pcmcia-cs-3.0.0 files and your card isn't mentioned.

I hadn't realized it before but apparently you must use a _cs
driver. I suppose you have tried the pcnet_cs.o driver? You may want
to search some of the linux on laptop web sites for which I don't have
any URLs.
