On 29-Nov-98 Charles Galpin spluttered:
# Rich
#
# I may be way off base here, since I haven't played with this stuff
# in a long
# while, and just got my new laptop's X working today, but..
#
# I have a setting
# Section "Screen"
# SubSection "Display"
# Depth 8
# ...
# EndSubSection
# ...
# EndSection
#
# that I believe controls this. Try setting Depth to 32 (in all
# Display
# subsections)
If you're off-base then I'm in the bleachers :-) but I *think* I
remember reading someplace that the "default" pixel depth is the
*first* entry like the above in XF89Config? Maybe try moving the 32bpp
entry to be the first such entry?
Wandering off to find my memory,
Fred
