Hi,
=20
I am in the "planning phase" to upgrade my relatively new RH5.1.
=20
I was told in order to solve some problems I had with 5.1 I had to =
download a good deal of fixes, so instead, maybe is worth upgrading to =
5.2 isn't ?? Any expert opinion on the matter ?.
=20
Well, reading the installation guide I found that :
=20
"The installation process for Red Hat Linux 5.2 includes the ability to =
upgrade from prior versions of Red Hat Linux(2.0 through 5.0, inclusive) =
...."
=20
What does it mean ??. It does not include this "ability" from 5.1 also =
??.
=20
Well, in case it is possible, I am planning to download it to my =
harddisk and from there do the new installation. Can anybody who have =
done that way give me some hints as how to proceed....I find the "guide" =
not very clear ...all these disk partition stuff I guess is not needed =
if I am upgrading and I already have all the required partitions in =
place ?? It is not very clear (in my opinion) the difference between the =
steps needed for a new install and those for the upgrade ??.=20
=20
If I still need to go through the creation of the disk and partition let =
me know also ??
=20
thanks in advance,=20
