That's exactly the problem I had! (See "Kernel problems in RH 5.2"). I
solved it by compiling a kernel (2.0.33) on another machine, then compiling on
on the "hybrid" (also 2.0.33). Everything seems to be working fine now.
Could it be a problem with 2.0.36?
