Hey,

I had similar problems installing redhat-5.1 on a machine with scsi
only drives. The solutions was to build a kernel on another compatible
machine and boot with it on the machine that had problems. From there, I
made a new kernel, and installed it (pretty much what you probably had
in mind anyways).

Also, I would like to add that redhat is a very fine company in the
sense that they are REALY trying to bring the linux comunity in the real
world, but... there service SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I too am a frustrated redhat buyer. The questions I had always seemed
to be out of the scope of the little installation procedure (that is
much simpler that other distribution's like slackware). I realy think
that they should improve it, but, for some reason, the REAL fans of
linux are left out of the scope of they're support policies, even if
they pay full price for the product.....

				Papi
