Newbie needs help.
I installed R.H.5.1 no problem.Had network going and ppp.Downloaded all
the updates for 5.1.Rebuilt the kernel rebooted, and the system comes
up.But..........
I can't get the network to work anymore.I see the statement "modprobe
module netmask not found"and also "netmask hostname lookup failure"
when I check dmesg.
I've rebuilt the kernel ,cleared out the previous modules, but still come
up with the same problem.
If I check netstat or ifconfig or route I get no listing.
Everything seems to still be as it was before the upgrade in Network
Configuration.that is default gateway ,ip's, routes....but none are
reflected in the output from netstat..ifconfig ..etc.
I've gone through all the files I think are relevant but obviously don't

Know enough...any help more than welcome.
