Hi. Here's a question for an advanced WordPerfect user, if there're any
out there. I'm a WP for DOS 'n Windows veteran, and trying to find
equivalents to certain features of functionality in the Linux version.
I'm using WP7:
1. Mouseless selection of text:
In Windows and DOS versions of WP, you can select text
mouselessly by holding down the Shift key and moving the arrow
buttons. This is very useful as it gives you a lot of control.
(I do technical stuff where i often have subscripts *inside* a
word.) Any Linux version equivalent?
2. Mouseless access to the main menu bar:
In Windows and DOS versions, you can hold down Alt and press a
designated letter to access a menu in the menu bar. Is there
any way to access the menubar without a mouse in the Linux
version? The menu bar has a letter underlined for each menu
(for example, "f" is underlined in "file", but i can't seem to
figure out how to access these menus without using the mouse.
Any clues?
3. Keyboard equivalent to mouse buttons:
This question isn't specific to WordPerfect. I'm using AfterStep.
If i don't want to use the mouse, i can hold down the Shift key
and use the arrow keys to move the cursor accross the screen.
So, is there any way of mimicking the mouse keys once i've moved
the cursor where i want it? Suppose for example, i've mouselessly
moved the cursor to a new window and now want to "click" to bring
that window into focus. Any way to do that? (I'll also be posting
this question under a separate message.)
Thanks in advance.
