There is some weird bug in the RedHat installer which affects installs
from dos partitions. Some people solve this problem by renaming (I assume
mv-ing) the RedHat directory tree containing /base/RPMS using theirrescue
disk. This doesn't work for me.
My partition is a win95, vfat partition, from which I've installed RedaHat
before. When I provide the correct pathname for the installation files,
FIND INSTALLATION FILES tells me "cannot open directory". When I put in
the wrong path it says, "There does not appear to be a RedHat directory
tree on the partition."
I'd sure appreciate it if someone knows a way around this problem.
