Thanks for responding.  The message I get says 

      mount: fs type iso9660 not supported by kernel 

How could I have something set up wrong?  I've never touched the CD-ROM
configuration--never had to....

Hmmmm...I'll have to look into that.  I've been using the same .config
file as before, and I never had this problem in the past.  I only remove
the Ethernet, ARCNet, etc.  Someone else said it's actually the fact
that I'm using egcs (sp?), not my kernel.
