It's a BIOS limitation: LILO is not an OS in miniature, it works entirely
through the BIOS and can only see the cylinders the BIOS can see.
Apparently some newer BIOS's can see above cylinder 1023, in which case
LILO on those systems will also see above cylinder 1023.
