Hello all,

I have a relatively new distribution of 5.2 running on my box.

Using xconf, I have specified my settings as follows:

*	P/S 2 Mouse
*	Emulate3Buttons enabled
*	Mouse is /dev/mouse
*	XKB is used
*	Keymap is standard 101-key, US encoding
*	hsync is 31.5 to 48.5, non-interlaced SVGA, 1024x768 @ 60 Hz
	(this falls within the parameters of the monitor, an Apple Multiple
Scan 17 display -- although I've tried lower settings with no luck as well)

*	Vertical sync range 50-100 (less than the actual settings)
*	Video card is S3 Vision 864 with server XF86_S3
*	Symbolic link set
*	Accel server XF86_S3
*	Video memory 2048
*	RAMDAC TI 3025
*	Clockchip TI 3025
*	Video modes at 16bpp for 640x480 and 800x600
*	Virtual screen not larger than physical screen

When I startx, I still get a large virtual screen bigger than my physical
screen, and a characteristic flicker.

I would like my monitor settings to reflect my true screen size. I'm sort
of stumped on this: it worked once when I ran through this on RH5.1, but
not since 5.2 (not that I think this should make a difference ... at least
my eth0 is intact).

Pointers, tips, advice, etc. is appreciated.
