Aaron, you hit the nail on the head!

It's now becoming possible for anybody who has slogged through
it to write the kind of straightforward, easy docs that newbies
will appreciate. But most sloggers don't want to, because that
would devalue our experience - its just human nature I'm afraid.

Writing good docs and tutorials is also hard work and that goes against
human nature too. I'm as lazy as most, I admit. On good days though
people do try to rise up and do something right.

RedHat IS doing a good job for newbies in the book in their Official Set,
which is also downloadable along with the rest of the CD. It's a lot harder to
read a book through a browser though, so I'd suggest that book as being
an absolute requirement for newbies installing Redhat. It doesn't try
to cover all of Linux. Just installing RedHat - but that's needed.

There are lots of other good docs out there, but they're

scattered and in a state of flux because all of this

is growing and changing rapidly. I find it fascinating.
