I've received quite a bit of e-mail regarding the online Java course available
through http://www.ibm.com/java. Through this web site you can join IBM and
participate in an online multimedia class to learn more about Java.
This course is available to OS/2 Warp 4 users, but we have discovered a
problem with the Bamba audio-video plug-in for Netscape for OS/2 Warp. This
problem has been corrected, and the fix is in final testing. We plan to make
an updated Bamba plug-in available from www.alphaworks.ibm.com in the very
near future. Also, the Java course will be slightly altered to work better
with the new version of the Bamba plug-in.
Please monitor the www.alphaworks.ibm.com site for this expected update to the
Bamba plug-in for OS/2 Warp.
Many thanks to those of you who pointed out this problem. We apologize for
the inconvenience, and we hope to see many OS/2 Warp Version 4 users
participating in the Java class very soon. Although these services are
experimental (and not officially supported on any platform), we feel it's very
important to correct this problem for our OS/2 Warp users as quickly as
possible.
