SOFTWARE: PMView 1.0 (new version)
PMView 1.0 is the latest version of a very fast, easy-to-use, and flexible
shareware bitmapped image viewer for OS/2. This release is intended mostly to
fix a few problems running PMView under OS/2 Warp 4.0, but it also includes
some new features, including support for CFM TWAIN (so you can drive a
CFM-supported scanner from inside PMView), LGO and FITS file read/write
support, and optional interpolation while Zooming (to improve image
appearance).
PMView 1.0 is currently located at
BMT Micro at ftp://ftp.bmtmicro.com/bmtmicro/pmvw100.zip
FilePile at http://filepile.com/nc/dd?pmvw100.zip+os2
AOL at the OS/2 Forum
(thanks to Scott Jentsch and Dave Swartz respectively for the last two).
In case you aren't familiar with it, PMView is a fast and popular viewer,
converter, and (minor) image editor for OS/2. PMView handles BMPs, GIFs,
JPEGs, TIFFs, PNGs (you can find our signatures on the PNG announcement),
IFFs, PCXs, PCDs, and many other types of bitmapped images (we support 35
different formats and variants). PMView is multithreaded and allows you to do
minor image modifications (such as adjusting brightness and contrast or
cropping). You can also use PMView to convert images, make simple slideshows,
capture the screen, and attach useful thumbnails (icons) to your image files.
For more information, see the PMView web page at
http://www.bmtmicro.com/pmview/
PMView is shareware, with a registration fee of US$42. PMView for OS/2
registrations are good for all future versions; you will NEVER have to pay to
upgrade. To register, contact BMT Micro. They have a web page at
http://www.bmtmicro.com/ and take phone calls at 910-791-7052 or faxes at
910-350-2937. For technical support or questions, please e-mail Peter Nielsen
at pnielsen@abo.fi or Raja Thiagarajan at sthiagar@indiana.edu.
