January 28, 1997 - Modular Dreams Incorporated today announces the release of
MD+F Plug-ins for ColorWorks - Renders, their third product in a series of
plug-in enhancements for SPG ColorWorks V2.
Modular Dreams' MD+F Plug-ins for ColorWorks - Renders consists of 20 plug-ins
which add pattern rendering capability to SPG Inc's ColorWorks V2. The
patterns created by these plug-ins can be used as-is or they can be retouched
using ColorWorks' standard set of filtering and image processing tools or
other MD+F plug-ins to create more complex paintings. Intended for Internet
based publishing usage, most plug-ins shipped in this package render truly
seamless images and an auto-tiling feature is provided where appropriate.
The following are the modules currently shipping in this package. Each
module name is followed be a short description:
Bars - Equally distanced curved bars.
Fire - A field of fire with various coloring schemes such as Fire, Smoke,
and Plasma or custom palettes.
Foil - Three different foil textures. (seamless)
Loops - Colored loops which star at full strength and slowly disappear
as they expand. (seamless)
Magnetic Field - A two or three colored cartoon-like magnetic field.
Moire - A moire pattern with controllable density for the three primary
colors. (seamless)
OPC Stars - OPC opening-sequence like stars. (seamless)
Parquet - Various tiling patterns in metallic or bar styles. (inherently
seamless)
Pulsars - Pulsar or Disc shaped objects. (seamless)
Radial Stars - Radial stars with controllable flares. (seamless)
Rings - Colored rings or loops in various sizes. (seamless)
Rods - Neon colored rods or melting objects. (seamless)
Sand - Classic sand/gravel pattern, can be recolored to create
additional textures such as paper. (seamless)
Sinewave - Sine or double wave in solid or various other coloring
schemes. (seamless)
Spheres - Spheres or Orbs with controllable glow rendered with
hard or soft edges. (seamless)
Stars - Dense cartoon-like star fields. (seamless)
Strands - Colored stands. (seamless in one direction)
Strings - Strings with adjustable flexibility overdrawn on an
image. (seamless)
Waves - Water waves.
Weave - 3D weaving ribbons with palette specified colorings. (seamless)
Unlike Modular Dreams Inc's Effects packages, the Render package is currently
a one volume product and any new render plug-ins they create will be added to
it and also made available as free upgrades on the company's website.
