If you would like to be an artist -- or just play one on TV -- you'll
definitely enjoy the December general meeting of the Phoenix OS/2 Society.
On Tuesday, December 10, Terry Hamilton will show us TrueSpectra's new
product, Photo>Graphics. TrueSpectra Photo>Graphics lets you easily create,
enhance, and combine an unlimited number of digital images, text, and draw
objects using editing and special effects tools.
You can change the color of objects; place text on photographs; duplicate or
crop images; enhance contrast and brightness; or zoom in to highlight the most
minute detail on a photograph, collage, business presentation, or advertising
flyer.
Without a doubt, you'll say "Oooooh!" several times during the course of the
evening.
Photo>Graphics features
Use the Power Panel to select your desired effects and then simply drag and
drop to apply. Effects can be added, edited, and removed with a simple click
of the mouse.
Photo>Graphics supports most common image formats, including JPEG and
interlaced GIF (used mostly on the Internet). You can work with images and
effects at different resolutions all at the same time. Photo>Graphics'
advanced .GDO file format makes efficient use of computer memory and disk
storage resources.
Photo>Graphics includes a full range of regions and tools which are easily
combined to form powerful objects. When layered, these objects interact to
produce millions of possible effects, textures, and warps -- no matter how
complex! Plus, you can save your new effects for later use.
You can choose from a robust set of drawing tools and combine them with
special effects to create fantastic, resolution-independent clip art. You get
freehand, line, and paint roller support; all with adjustable line width,
softness, stroke, fill, cap style, and join style for complete flexibility and
creative freedom.
Effects may also be applied to text to create dazzling results with ease. Make
your text float, add 3D effects, skew, warp, rotate, or mirror for truly
professional results.
Create graphics for enhancing business presentations, publishing on the
Internet, or for family entertainment. Photo>Graphics outperforms all
traditional pixel editors and draw packages. Even complex projects are easy
and fun!
Face rings a bell
Terry Hamilton's name might sound familiar; until recently, he was a
contractor to IBM, supporting Team OS/2 activities. Perhaps he'll share some
of his viewpoints about IBM's support of Team OS/2 and grass roots
activities... especially when we get him to relax at Coyote Springs after the
official meeting.
When & where
The general meeting starts at 7:00PM, but a Q&A session gets underway at
6:30PM. If you want to ask other OS/2 users for advice about motherboards,
hints to win at the latest OS/2 games, or nearly anything else, come early to
hear what other users have to say. The meeting is held at the Mountain
Preserve Reception Center at 1431 East Dunlap, Phoenix.
