-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The new version 1.0999 of the OS/2 Forum Austria Extended Goserve
Filter is available. This filter is for GoServe version 2.40 or
above.
The main advantage of this filter is that you don't need to have
any REXX knowledge to use this filter. But of course the more
you know the more features you will use.
New features:
+ Since version 1.0:
Dynamic document creation: If you want to create HTML pages
by using scripts (for example a search routine) then you can
send the result line by line.
+ Since version 1.09:
Client requests for directories doesn't need to send a
trailing slash anymore.
Server side includes commands: To create pages dynamically
you can include these commands. It is possible to specify some
information about the file itself, including of other
documents, showing the results of REXX functions or user
defined functions, and to include or exclude parts of the
body text depending on logical expressions.
+ Since version 1.099:
Bugs corrected: Requesting a non existing directory caused
a catastrophic error instead of a not found
response.
Missing information about GoServe's cache
feature lead to bad perfomance. (Set
"File command cache" to "Active" and use
the "Don't call filter" option.)
Using the send_line command caused a system
trap (000d) when client closes connection.
Wrong entries in the trap.log file after
running an external script.
Configuration file's content will be compiled into the filter
not into a seperate script.
Options page for GoServe settings to set/change nearly all
settings of the GoServe's option notebook remotely.
User specific URIs. It is possible to define additional data
paths within or out of GoServe's datapath.
The icon's directory will be used as search path for GIFs.
If the requested GIF can't be found in the actual directory
it will be taken out of the icons directory (if it exists
there).
See the documentation for all details.
