Archaeologists have found the rusting remains of 44 submarines off the United
Kingdoms coast, an oceanic graveyard made up mostly of vessels from the
German Imperial Navy dating to World War I.Der Spiegel reports a quartet
of divers are now at work probing the massive trove of 41
German U-boats, and a trio of English submarines, found at depths of
up to 50 feet, off Englands southern and eastern coasts.Donning an ultrasound
sonar device as if it were a wristwatch, underwater archaeologist Mark Dunkley
tells the German news magazine he anticipates most of the newly unearthed
submarines will eventually be found to contain the perished crews remains.-

Dunkley reportedly said, adding, "We divers only approach the boats with
great caution. Venturing inside would definitely be extremely dangerous."Dunkley,

historic hooch, a100-proof-plus cache of pre-Prohibition whiskey valued
by one expert at more than $100,000.John Saunders allegedly belted back
50-or-so of the 104 total bottles Old Farm Pure Rye Whiskey that
were, until recently, surreptitiously stowed behind a stairwell leading
to his Scottdale, Pa., basement apartment.Saunders, who, according to his
former landlord, was supposed to safeguard the whiskey, denies having touched
the spirits.However, court-ordered genetic samples furnished by Saunders
matched the whiskeys unique profile, according to WTAE 4, which first reported
the story.The 62-year-old was subsequently charged by authorities with felony

The secret intelligence court that signs off on giving the U.S. government
the authority to monitor hundreds of millions of telephone records has renewed
the governments request to do so for another three months.The Office of
the Director of National Intelligence announced Friday its authority to
maintain the program expired on July 19 and that the government had
sought and received a renewal from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance
Act court.National Intelligence Director James Clapper announced the new
order.The surveillance program has been under intense scrutiny since June,
when former CIA employee and National Security Agency contractor Edward
Snowden leaked details of two top secret U.S. surveillance programs that
critics say violate privacy rights.Snowden has been charged with espionage
and is seeking asylum from several countries, including Russia.Clapper "has
decided to declassify and disclose publicly that the government filed an
application with the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court seeking renewal
of the authority to collect telephony metadata in bulk, and that the
court renewed that authority," the statement said.The two programs, both
run by the NSA, pick up millions of telephone and Internet records
that are routed through American networks each day. Intelligence officials
say they have helped disrupt dozens of terrorist attacks, and target only
