I've uploaded some useful utilities for using the dynamic allocation feature
of linux's VC's to sunsite and tsx-11. If you like to use VC's, you'll
probably be interested. Included in the package is a daemon that will
start a new getty when you hit the Spawn_Console key, which is pretty handy.
Please feel free to email me with bug reports, comments, suggestions, etc...

The eventual destination for these things is probably:

tsx-11.mit.edu:/pub/linux/sources/usr.bin/dynamic-vc-1.0.tar.gz
sunsite.unc.edu:/pub/Linux/utils/console/dynamic-vc-1.0.tar.gz

---------------------
>From the README:

This package contains a collection of utilities for dynamic virtual consoles.
Kernel version 1.1.54 or higher is required.

cspawnd: daemon to dynamically start new gettys on demand
close: de-allocates memory for unused vc's

This package also includes open-1.3 by Jon Tombs. Please see the files in
open-1.3 for more information. I have included them here with the permission
of the author in an effort to keep all of these things in the same place.
Jon has told me that he does not plan to develop these programs further.
I have made some enhancements to them, so you can send bug reports to me.
The programs in open-1.3 are:

open: starts a new VC running a specified command
switchto: switches to a new VC from the command line
