DSS is pleased to announce DACS version 1.4.14.
This is primarily a bug fix and minor enhancements release. DACS is security
software - we urge all users to upgrade to the latest release.

New features include:
  + new configuration directives to enhance security and
    detect poor passwords
  + improved tracking of user requests
  + new applications of the DACS rule processing engine:
    dacs_transform, dacstransform, dacssched, and the rule() predicate

DACS is:
  o an out-of-the-box, light-weight single sign-on and role-based access
    control system distributed under an open source license;
  o highly configurable, enhanced authentication and authorization
    capabilities for Apache;
  o an Apache 2.0/2.2 module, suite of CGI programs, and collection of command
    line tools for Unix-type platforms, such as Linux, FreeBSD, and Solaris;
  o transparent access control for any web service or web content;
  o a flexible, modular, and efficient authentication framework that can be
    used by almost any program or script; and
  o a powerful rule processing engine that can provide fine-grained
    authorization testing to any program or script.

DACS 1.4.14 is released under dual licensing terms (a GPL-compatible open
source license and a commercial license).

DACS is hosted on SourceForge at http://sourceforge.net/projects/dacs
