Subject: Rope for IPCop 1.4.6 - Scriptable Packet Matching and P2P controls

The IpTables "Rope" module is now available as a pre-combiled binary
add-in for the GPL IPCop 1.4.6 firewall distribution.

This new feature is part of the 20050724 release.

Rope is a packet match module for linux iptables that allows complex
criteria to be specified using a simple scripting language. This means
users can develop their own high-level protocol matching logic without
writing kernel modules in C.

Example scripts are available for.

 . identifying Bittorrent
 . identifying eDonkey 2000
 . identifying Gnutella
. identifying large HTTP transfers from the "Content-length" field in
the transfer header.

Project download (including source code and IPCop pre-built add-in),
documentation, forum and mailing lists are all available via the Rope
home page at.
