LILO release 22.7 is based upon Werner Almesberger's LILO version 21.
Version 22.7 is a minor update to version 22.6.1
o Add the DOS/Windows utility 'lilo.com' which implements the -q -R -V (-C -m)
switches. This utility may be used to set the boot command line if the sector
map file is on a DOS/Windows partition.
o Add bulletproofing for "unattended" so that a spurious <CR> character can
be ignored.
o Select boot descriptors based upon partially typed names in all situations
except "unattended".
Version 22.6.1 is a minor update to version 22.6
o "mkrescue" adds "--image" and "--size HD --iso" options.
o "lilo -I ..." switch updated with "R" option.
Version 22.6 is a minor update to version 22.5.9
o Add keyword "unattended" for noisy serial line boot consoles.
o Provide for compilation on 64-bit Linux (IA-64).
o Remove NASM dependency for compilation.
o Allow "root=" to use "LABEL=name" syntax.
o Add local image descriptor keyword "addappend=".
o Provide for servers with more than 16 hard disks.
Versions 22.5.*, 22.4, 22.3, 22.2, 22.1, 22.0 are major updates to version 21.
*** THE VERSION 22 RAID1 IMPLEMENTATION IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH VERSION 21.
Those using version 21 should read 'README.raid1' before installing these
new codes. There is a compatibility mode (lilo -x mbr-only) for existing
RAID1 installations which are not going to be converted to the Version 22
implementation.
Source code is available for download from:
http://lilo.go.dyndns.org/pub/linux/lilo (developer's site)
Or from the main distribution site:
ftp://metalab.unc.edu/pub/Linux/system/boot/lilo (please use)
See the distribution file 'CHANGES' for details of the differences between
22.7 and prior releases.
