From: Sebastien Godard <sebastien.godard@wanadoo.fr>
Subject: sysstat-4.1.5 - System performance tools for Linux
Date: 22 Jul 2003 20:40:05 GMT

Hi all,

This is to announce the release of sysstat, version 4.1.5 for Linux.
Sysstat 4.1.5 is a development version and is available for download from my
web page:
http://perso.wanadoo.fr/sebastien.godard/

By the time you read this, it should also be available on ibiblio's Linux
archive site (formerly known as Metalab):
ftp://ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/system/status/
108kB sysstat-4.1.5.tar.gz
110kB sysstat-4.1.5-1.src.rpm
62kB sysstat-4.1.5-1.i386.rpm

The sysstat utilities are a collection of performance monitoring tools for
Linux. These include sar, mpstat, iostat and sa tools.

To learn some more about sysstat, check out
http://perso.wanadoo.fr/sebastien.godard/

Changes vs 4.1.4 are:
2003/07/21: Version 4.1.5
WARNING: Daily data files format has changed, and is *not* compatible with the
previous one! Delete existing data files in /var/log/sa directory!
* 'sar -x <pid>' and 'sar -X <pid>' work again.
* sar had a longstanding bug that prevented option -P from working properly if
the machine had more than 32 processors. This is now fixed.
* Fixed a bug introduced in 4.1.2, which made some LINUX RESTART messages to
not be displayed by sar.
* sar now uses bitmap of char instead of int to avoid endianness problems.
* sar can now handle a huge number of processors, serial lines and network
interfaces.
* FAQ updated.

Subject: bogofilter-0.14.0 - New Current Release
Date: 22 Jul 2003 22:15:02 GMT

Bogofilter version 0.14.0 has been released on SourceForge,
http://sourceforge.net/projects/bogofilter.

It provides support for a single, combined wordlist (named wordlist.db)
which holds both spam and ham tokens and which provides improved
performance (speed). This release also supports for the Trivial DB package
(tdb) as an alternative to the BerkeleyDB.

Parsing improvements include decoding of encoded tokens in message headers
(cf. RFC-2047).

See files NEWS-0.14 and RELEASE.NOTES-0.14 for the details.

From: Barry Kauler <bkauler@goosee.com>
Subject: ANNOUNCE: Puppy Linux v0.5 released
Date: 23 Jul 2003 12:15:27 GMT

Puppy now has many more apps, plus hardware autodetection.
The ISO is still only 22M, with a full suite of GUI
apps. The entire filesystem runs in a 48M ramdisk,
which means that all apps start instantly and respond
instantly --a most pleasant experience!

Good news also is ibiblio.org is now hosting the
live-CD ISO.
