=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====
We proudly announce the first release of
MCA2 - Modular Controller Architecture Version 2 .
Have a look at http://mca2.sf.net/
For the effective development and realization of different robot
prototypes the use of transferable electronic and software components
is a very important aspect. Reusable components with standardized
interfaces lead to extendable architectures. We developed a scalable
hardware architecture and a modular software system that satisfy these
topics.
Beside the reusability of controlling mechanisms for other prototypes
the short training period of new students as well as the uniformly
software appearance has played an important role during the
development of MCA. To fulfill eventual real-time requirements Real
Time Linux has been used.
The whole architecture contains interfaces that can be used via
ethernet. A common graphical user interface has been developed to
simplify the usage of this interface.
The complete controller architecture can be read and displayed
graphically in a tree-like structure. The user is able to navigate
through the hierarchy with only a few mouse-clicks, select certain
modules and act on its parameters.

Version 1.12.0 of "noteedit" available.
See: http://rnvs.informatik.tu-chemnitz.de/~jan/noteedit/noteedit.html
New feature: Multiple windows. This allows you to copy/paste
elements between different scores
other features:
* insertion/deletion/modification of notes, rests, dotted notes/rests,
tied notes, slured notes, clefs with/without shift, time signatures,
key signatures, volume signatures, tempo signatures, triplets, repeat
groups with/without special ending and instrument changes on different
staffs;
* stem up/down
* zoom
* building chords;
* building groups of beamed notes;
* Undo/Redo
* playing on /dev/sequencer (if correctly configured) whereby:
o giving each staff a different voice;
o giving each staff a different channel;
o giving each staff a different reverbation and chorus;
o highlighting the played notes;
o muting staffs;
* lyrics
* export LilyPond;
* export MusiXTeX;
* export PMX;
* export MIDI;
* import MIDI;
* read from MIDI keyboard;
* Application of MIDI event filters to eliminate
some dirty effects (especially on human played MIDI files);

HI!
Find a new release of web2ldap on:
http://www.web2ldap.de/download.html
Ciao, Michael.
***** web2ldap 0.9.3 *****
Release Date: 2001-06-08
Changes since 0.9.2:
* Started writing a FAQ document.
* Cleaned up determining the default RDN for adding new entry.
* If an exception instance of type ldap.PARTIAL_RESULTS
contains more than one referral LDAP URL only the first one
is extracted and used. This is a workaround for the problem
that multiple referral URLs were not parsed properly.
* New method LDAPSession.isLeafEntry() is used to prevent user
from submitting modrdn request on non-leaf entry.
* If a single binary attribute is requested by command read an
error message is generated if the entry does not contain
this attribute (probably affects only cases where the user
manually edits the URL).
* Some modifications to nicely display attributes found in
Active Directory (e.g. objectGUID, whenChanged).
* Incompatible change to configuration dictionary
web2ldapcnf.misc.ldap_browsermimetypes to make it more
flexible. The format is now:
ldap_browsermimetypes = {
('browsername','browserversion'):{
'attrtype':'mime_type'
},
'browsername':{
'attrtype':'mime_type'
},
}
* Default MIME-types of certificates and CRLs were changed to
application/pkix-cert and application/pkix-crl to be
compliant to RFC 2585.
* Extra try-except block in w2lhandler.py sends all unhandled
exceptions (including exceptions raised in except statements
of inner try-except block) to logging function
w2lcore.log_exception().
* Work around buggy browsers (e.g. StarOffice) which does not
honour the accept-charset attribute of <form> tag and try to
decode input as ISO-8859-1 if e.g. UTF-8 fails.

Subject: AIDA-ix/net 7.2 for administration of heterogenous Unix(tm)
Date: Wed, 13 Jun 2001 16:24:17 GMT
=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====
Dear Sirs,
we proudly present you AIDA-IX/net®, Release 7.2, which improves and
simplifies the administration of an environment of heterogenous Unix(TM)
operating systems.
With AIDA-IX/net® you enhance the security and transparency of your network
and reduce the efforts for administration and tool development by higher
efficiency, quality and flexibility.
Completely different configured networks can be administered with the *same*
methods. Thus a single administrator manages more systems in a shorter time
due to the high functionality.
Especially high benefit will come by:
- - Ease of use and speeding up of re-/configuration and re-/installation of
systems
- - Reduces the usual administrative workload by automating the most repetitive
simple tasks
- - Safety and security concept embedded in an administration rules system
- - Ensured quality of your own administration processes and services
- - Increased transparency by platform-independent standardization (Works with:
HP-UX 10/11, Solaris 2.x up to 8, SunOS 4.x, Linux (RH and SuSE), SINIX,
IRIX. Can be easily ported to others). All systems are administered with
the same commands, everywhere. Fully featured.
- - Increased customer satisfaction and enhanced productivity of the users
of the network
- - Efficient overview due to centralized configuration of rules and exceptions
(single system image) and an object oriented point of view. - Makes simple
things simple over heterogenous borders.
- - Permanently current and complete documentation of the network as a
side-effect of the central configuration
- - Automatic documentation of all administration activities
- - Adoption of conceptual administration tasks without additional personnel
- - Multilanguage support. It's extremely easy to implement new languages.
Additionally, any part can be modified to match the local "lingo"
- - All tasks can be tested completely in dryruns and in several verbosity
levels. No harm done to any system.
- - Extensive and complete online documentation available
- - Extensive optional interactive help texts everywhere (Can be modified to
better suit local needs)
- - Several levels of verbosity make every step transparent (nothing is hidden
from the administrators)
- - Administration tool may work as a learning kit for new UNIX Administrators
AIDA-IX/net® is written and supported by highly experienced administrators
and is used at Siemens AG at several locations worldwide internally since
1993.
For further information send me or Mr. Robert Buchenberger an email with
your questions.

Subject: Gwydion Dylan 2.3.5 for Linux released
Date: Wed, 13 Jun 2001 16:24:46 GMT
=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====
Release 2.3.5 of Gwydion Dylan
Gwydion Dylan is a free, open source implementation of the Dylan
language, running on a wide range of platforms . It features an
optimizing Dylan-to-C compiler written in Dylan, and a byte-code
interpreter written in C to bootstrap the compiler.
Gwydion Dylan was originally written by the Gwydion Group at CMU and
is now maintained by volunteers, known as the Gwydion Dylan Hackers.
This release increases speed of the generated code by about twenty
percent, while at the same time reducing code size. With limited
collections now working, the Sieve of Erathostenes in Dylan runs at
90% the speed of the C version.
More information can be found on the Gwydion Dylan Hackers web page at
http://www.gwydiondylan.org
The source code is available from:
ftp://ftp.gwydiondylan.org/pub/gd/src/gwydion-dylan-2.3.5.tar.gz

Subject: Presentation Tools (Overview)

=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====
Preparing a presentation usually means creating some sort of slides.
The more data beamer equipment gets common in working environments,
the more comes to mind creating such presentation material as a
screen version, which can be viewed using a data beamer or at least
a computer screen. As a side effect such presentations can usually
easily be presented on a website.
This document tries to show some possible solutions for creating screen
based presentations. Most of the listed solutions are (La)TeX-based
because I personally prefer (La)TeX - and derived tools - over other
documentation systems. So called Office Solutions and commercial tools
are not listed.
Contributions are very welcome! If you know some tool which is not yet
covered in this document or want to contribute additional information
for an already listed solution please email me your contribution.

Have fun!
