From: Mark Goodwin <markgw@sgi.com>
Subject: SGI Performance Co-Pilot 2.2.0 now available
Date: Sat,  2 Jun 2001 23:32:25 GMT

=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====

SGI is pleased to announce the new version of Performance Co-Pilot (PCP)
open source (version 2.2.0-18) is now available for download from
http://oss.sgi.com/projects/pcp/download

PCP is an extensible system monitoring package with a client/server
architecture. It provides a distributed unifying abstraction for all
interesting performance statistics in /proc and assorted applications
(e.g. Apache). The PCP library APIs are robust and well documented,
supporting rapid deployment of new and diverse sources of performance
data and the development of sophisticated performance monitoring tools.

There are binary RPMs for ia32 and ia64, the source RPM and tar.gz files.
The source should also build and work for Linux-ppc, Linux-alpha and
most other Linux platforms.

The PCP homepage is at http://oss.sgi.com/projects/pcp and you can join
the PCP mailing list via http://oss.sgi.com/projects/pcp/mail.html

This release (2.2.0-18) adds five new PCP agents and associated runtime
libraries, many new metrics, numerous important build and bug fixes
(particularly for IA64) and a large number of small changes as we merged
and reconciled the IRIX and open source trees.

SGI would like to thank those who contributed to this release, especially
Michal Kara, Laurent Demailly, Alan Baily, Alexander L. Belikoff, the SGI
PCP engineering team, and others.

A list of changes since the last open source release (which was version
2.1.10, released 20-Oct-2000) is in /usr/doc/pcp-2.2.0/CHANGELOG after
installation, or at http://oss.sgi.com/projects/pcp/latest.html

Thanks and enjoy!

From: "Andreas Bauer" <baueran@in.tum.de>
Subject: Mailfilter 0.2.0 (stable) available
Date: Sat,  2 Jun 2001 23:33:35 GMT

=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====

This is to inform you about a new stable release of the Mailfilter program
[0.2.0], located at the usual site:

  http://mailfilter.sourceforge.net/

Mailfilter is a flexible utility for UNIX (-like) operating systems to get
rid of unwanted spam mails, before having to go through the trouble of
downloading them into the local computer. It offers support for one or
many POP3 accounts and is especially useful for dialup connections via
modem, ISDN, etc.

Mailfilter connects to any POP3 mail box and compares part of its content
to a set of user defined filter rules. That way the spam gets deleted
directly on the mail server.

With Mailfilter you can define your own filters (rules) to determine which
e-mails should be delivered and which are considered waste. Rules are
regular expressions, so you can make use of familiar options from other
mail delivery programs such as e.g. procmail.

Program changes this time include:

  - Updated man pages

  - Added new keyword to delete duplicates of messages

  - New translations

  - Passwords don't show up in log files anymore if verbosity level is
    set sufficiently high

For complete release information, change log or a feature overview please
look at the NEWS file: http://mailfilter.sourceforge.net/NEWS

Thanks!
Andreas Bauer.

Date: Sat,  2 Jun 2001 23:34:07 GMT

=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====

Version 1.11.0 of "noteedit" available.

See: http://rnvs.informatik.tu-chemnitz.de/~jan/noteedit/noteedit.html

New feature: Zoom

Note! There is a slight version incompatibility because the meaning
of the overlength, underlength and lyricsdist parameters has changed.
Please edit the ".not" files and multiply the distance values with 3.
Or load every ".not" file and correct the values using the staff
properties dialog.

other features:

   * export LilyPond;
   * insertion/deletion/modification of notes, rests, dotted notes/rests,
     tied notes, slured notes, clefs with/without shift, time signatures,
     key signatures, volume signatures, tempo signatures, triplets, repeat
     groups with/without special ending and instrument changes on different
     staffs;
   * stem up/down
   * building chords;
   * building groups of beamed notes;
   * Undo/Redo
   * playing on /dev/sequencer (if correctly configured) whereby:
        o giving each staff a different voice;
        o giving each staff a different channel;
        o giving each staff a different reverbation and chorus;
        o highlighting the played notes;
        o muting staffs;
   * lyrics
   * export MusiXTeX;
   * export PMX;
   * export MIDI;
   * import MIDI;
   * read from MIDI keyboard;
   * Application of MIDI event filters to eliminate
     some dirty effects (especially on human played MIDI files);
   * record from MIDI keyboard;
   * saving an restoring the files. The fileformat is similarily to the
     format of the music publication program (MUP). So you if you are a MUP
     user you have the possibility to convert the files into MIDI and
     Postscript. But this is no longer necessary because noteedit can export
     MusiXTeX, PMX, MIDI and LilyPond.

important features

convert every jpeg to a single pdf (-album if you want to produce a
unique PDF)
jpg2pdf PRO can automatic detect is the jpeg image is rgb or gray or
cmyk and create the correct pdf. Note: jpg2pdf PRO tries to detect if
the cmyk image is made by Adobe Photoshop and will use inverted
colours to create the pdf (it appears that Adobe Photoshop writes
inverted data in CMYK JPEG files: 0 represents 100% ink coverage,
rather than 0% ink as you'd expect)
center parameter will center evary jpeg image in the final pdf page
Using image parameter (to set the paper format of the pdf page equal
to the image) is possible to use border parameter to set a border
around the image
It's possible to re-run infinitely jpg2pdf PRO every set second and
move and move the produced PDFs and the initial jpegs to 2 different
directories (pdfdir and jpgdir options)

Test jpg2pdf 2.x PRO!

=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====

A new version, 1.11, of xnetload is available.

Purpose
- -------
This program displays in an X window the network traffic and uptime for the
network connection named on the command line. It was originally written it to
monitor dial-up connections. It requires the /proc file system!

Reason for this release
- -----------------------
A bug concerning partial matching of inferface names was fixed. Also, the
buffer to read in the contents od /proc/net/dev is now dynamically
allocated. Therefore, users of previous versions are advised to upgrade.

Location
- --------
New versions of this program are allways available first on the homepage:
http://www.xs4all.nl/~rsmith/software/

On this web-page you'll also find an md5sum of the source package. Run
`md5sum xnetload-1.11.0.tar.gz' and compare the output with the number found
on the web-page. If the numbers differ, the source package was either
mauled during download (use binary download if you're ftp-ing) or possibly
altered.

In time it will also appear on ftp.ibiblio.org, in the directory
/pub/Linux/system/status/xstatus/

The current archive and the moderating and archiving software currently
in use will be provided along with minimal assistance necessary.

Subject: LessTif Release 0.92.32 is out

=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====

The LessTif Core Team is pleased to announce
      Release 0.92.32
of the LessTif library!

This is a "PICO release", to be followed shortly by the first
major release of LessTif in 2001.

This is the first major release that works well with GNU Emacs.
Other highlights include bugfixes involving NEdit, improved
internationalisation (i18n) support, and a first implementation
of printing support (works with Xinvest).

As usual we fixed some bugs in the libraries and tried to further
improve the configuration and build process. We now use the latest
version of GNU libtool (1.4) which allows us to track dependencies
between the libraries. In addition we benefit from it's bugfixes
and extended support for various platforms. Also, the latest and
greatest versions of automake (1.4-p2) and autoconf (2.50) are used.

Check out the NOTES and ChangeLog files for details on what we have done!

The Xbae widget set now fully supports resizing rows and true color
displays. Other work on our companion libraries Xlt and Xbae is described
in their documentation.

About LessTif:
LessTif is a LGPL'd implementation of the OSF/Motif standard GUI toolkit
for X11. LessTif aims to be source compatible with the OSF/Motif versions 1.2
and 2.1. We're almost done with the 1.2 part, but we still lack
some substantial parts of the 2.1 functionality. (Actually
most 2.x applications do already build, but may not work properly yet.)

So at this point, almost all Motif 1.2 apps compile and run
out of the box with LessTif! The LessTif Core team is interested
in hearing about Motif applications which don't work with LessTif.
Bug reports are welcome; patches are even more welcome!

More information, source code, and binaries for several platforms
are available at:
