=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====

Announcing a new release of signature, 0.14.

signature is a free open-source producer of dynamic signatures for
livening up your e-mail and news postings. It enables you to sign
your messages with a different sig every time.

signature allows you to define a signature template containing static
and placeholder text, the latter of which will be dynamically replaced
by the output of fortune(6) or any other program whenever a signature
is required.

As an alternative, you can also create your own quote file containing
your favourite tag lines.

User-visible changes from 0.13 to 0.14:

* fixed bug that caused '<' placeholder to remain behind when there were
backspaces or underscores in the text

The software can be obtained from:

    http://www.caliban.org/files/signature/signature-0.14.tar.gz

RPM format packages can be obtained from:

    http://www.caliban.org/files/signature/signature-0.14.i386.rpm
    http://www.caliban.org/files/signature/signature-0.14.src.rpm

The source code is available under the GPL 2.0 licence.

Date: Sun, 3 Dec 2000 12:19:54 GMT

=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====

I'm pleased to announce the public release of SMSLink 0.51b.

This software implements a client / server gateway to the SMS protocol
(the short messages sent to mobile phones). It requires the use of
dedicated hardware, though (a Falcom, Wavecom or Siemens voice modem GSM
module, which is basically just a GSM with a plain serial port and AT commands
support -- please see the project web page for a list of supported
hardware). Both sending and receiving SMSes is supported. Also included
is a SMS to eMail gateway module. Users are now able to send (short)
emails straight from their mobile phones keypad. Mail delivery to the
GSM is under development.

Version 0.51b brings full PDU-mode support (now supports SMS reception
in PDU mode as well), and adds support for 2 more GSM models (see
CHANGELOG for details).

PLEASE NOTE: this project is now hosted at SourceForge (see URL below).

This software is distributed under the GNU GPL.

For more information, please visit the project web page at :

http://smslink.sourceforge.net/

Thanks.

Ph. A.

=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====

I am pleased to announce the release of Heroes 0.7.

Heroes is similar to the "Tron" and "Nibbles" games of yore, but
includes many graphical improvements and new game features.
In it, you must maneuver a small vehicle around a world and collect
powerups while avoiding obstacles, your opponents' trails, and even
your own trail.

There are five game modes available. Quest is the classical
Nibbles, in Death Match you start with very long tails a must kill your
opponents, in Kill'em All you must run over lemmings moving on the
ground, in Time Cash or Color modes you must collect money or pyramids
of color. Heroes features 12 original sound tracks, 94 levels (in 10
different tile sets) plus a level editor.

You are invited to visit the following links:
  home page: http://heroes.sourceforge.net/
  screenshots: http://heroes.sourceforge.net/screenshots.html
  download: http://heroes.sourceforge.net/download.html

(Note: this is a source code release, the `download' page also list
binary packages but they might not be up to date yet.)

NEWS in this version include:
  - more supported architectures (currently includes: GNU/Linux,
FreeBSD, NetBSD, Solaris, Win32/MinGW32, Win32/VisualC, Digital
    Unix)
  - many bug fixes, in the game as well as in the installation process
  - a lot of internal revamping
See the NEWS file for details, there have been a lot of changes not
worth to list here.

HELP! Heroes development is open to anyone and we welcome any
contribution. In the hypothetical case you would like to spend some
time on the source code and don't know what to do, please, ask the

Presentation: Beginners Meeting
Presenter : KLUG

This meeting is intended for those who are curious about Linux or want
some help getting started. Join us as Bob takes the mystery out of PPP
by showing us a tool, KPPP to get the job done! Bring your computer to
the meeting and have Linux installed on it at no charge. For a small
fee, you can even bring home your own Linux CD-ROM, produced locally.
You can also come and listen to our new user presentation and have your
questions answered about Linux, for home or business.

If you are planning on bringing a computer for installation to this
meeting please fill out the install form to make arrangements.
Installations are done by appointment ONLY. You must fill out this form
one week prior to the meeting if you want to bring in your computer.
Visit http://kalamazoolinux.org/installform.html to view and fill out
the form. Thank you for your cooperation. Feel free to contact our
install master (installmaster@kalamazoolinux.org) with any questions.

Now's the time to get started! Linux is becoming a mainstay of free
software, free choice, dependability and power.

We meet weekly, each Tuesday at 7:00 PM. Our meeting site is Room 4202
of Dunbar Hall on the campus of Western Michigan University.

From: SANFACE Software <sanface@sanface.com>
Subject: pstoepd 0.3.1 - PS to EPD converter
Date: Sun, 3 Dec 2000 12:21:01 GMT

=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====

1. What is "pstoepd"?

"pstoepd" is a converter from the Postscript format
(http://www.adobe.com) to the EPD format (http://epd.sourceforge.net).
You can use some sort of postscript files to get files coded in the EPD
format usable with programs like the very powerful "txt2pdf"

2. The current development state of "pstoepd".

Do not expect "pstoepd" to be perfect. It is a solution to get EPD files
from postscript files. It may work for your ideas, or your ideas need
some different way to produce postscript files to realize it. We have
developed "pstoepd" to open a door for an easy to use vector oriented
file format.
Please contact us (eg. me at helmar@vhwks.de or Fabrizio at
sanface@sanface.com), if you have an idea to improve the program or the
EPD-format.

3. Where can I get "pstoepd"?

You can download most recent version at
http://sourceforge.net/projects/EPD

4. How to install "pstoepd".

It is easy for Linux or similar OS: get the pstoepd.tgz from Sourceforge
(http://www.sourceforge.net/projects/EPD). Unpack it into it's own
directory and start "make all; make test". You will need GNU-
Ghostscript (versions 5.10 and 5.50 "Thanks to Eric" are tested) and
gawk (as far as I know: any version you can download).

For other OS: You need an ANSI-C-compiler and the files from
pstoepd.tgz.
Try to compile "minips.c" (it may be possible, that you have to simulate
something like "strcmp" or that you have to adapt the line endings). The
resulting executable is needed for the scripts of "pstoepd". Get the
script "pstoepd" to work for your OS. You will need GNU-Ghostscript and
some kind of awk - and probably many other things to do so. Please send
us your solution if you know we do not have a similar one.

5. Which kind of "Postscript" is supported by "pstoepd"?

Drawings. Convert all font related things to curves and do not use any
bitmaps or gradients. Do not use clipping paths for the current version
- - and it may work.

6. How to use "pstoepd"?

Inside the directory "pstoepd" is located: Type "pstoepd" and
on your shell and you will get information about how to use it.
