MIMESweeper is a MIME mail scanner designed to run on Linux or UNIX

Date: Sat, 24 Jun 2000 22:18:53 GMT

=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====

I am pleased to announce GQL for the first time in
comp.os.linux.announce.

GQL provides a generic way to access different SQL databases by
drivers. It is written in C++, but other interfaces are likely to be
supported in the future (Python is nearly ready). The interface is
modelled closely after JDBC (Java Database Connectivity).

The GQL homepage is http://gql.sourceforge.net.

Anybody interested in helping advance GQL, send me a mail (adress in
..sig).

Thanks
        Andy

=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====

Hi,

I've released pybliographer-1.0.3, available from:

http://www.gnome.org/pybliographer/download.html

Pybliographer is a tool for handling bibliographic databases. It provides an
homogeneous interface over several bibliographic formats (BibTeX, Refer,
Ovid, Medline), and powerful search capabilities. It can interact with LyX.

CHANGES:

        * Reading of Windows BibTeX files (with CRLF)

        * Fixed bugs in the Style files and in the style mechanism

        * Adding a new field during edition doesn't discard previous changes
        anymore.

        * Fixed bug when cancelling a close action initiated from the
        window manager

REQUIREMENTS

        * a working gnome 1.0.x environment

        * gnome-python >= 1.0.53

        * python 1.5.x (probably 1.5.2)

Subject: noteedit can record directly from MIDI keyboard
Date: Sat, 24 Jun 2000 22:47:44 GMT

=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====

Version 1.6.0 of the Qt-based note editor "noteedit" is now able to record the
music directly from MIDI keyboard. This is assisted by one of the MIDI event
filters offered by Pete Goodliffe's TSE3 library. This gives you the possibility
to deal with some dirty effects in human played files.

MusiXTeX, PMX and MUP users have so the possibility to create the score directly
from MIDI keyboard.

See: http://rnvs.informatik.tu-chemnitz.de/~ja/noteedit/noteedit.html

New is also:
        - muting staffs during replay
        - export PMX
        - determine pitch by means of a MIDI keyboard

Other properties:

   * insertion/deletion/modification of notes, rests, dotted notes, slured
     notes, clefs, time signatures and key signatures on different staffs;
   * building chords;
   * playing on /dev/sequencer (if correctly configured) whereby:
        o giving each staff a different voice;
        o giving each staff a different channel;
        o highlighting the played notes;
        o setting MIDI tempo;
   * export MusiXTeX;
   * export MIDI;
   * import MIDI;
   * read from MIDI keyboard

Planned

If there is enougth interest I plan to transform the program into a KDE
application.

Furthermore:

   * More edit features: transpose
   * More music elements: lyrics ...
