Subject: IPTraf 2.2.1 - an IP network statistics utility
Date: Thu, 25 May 2000 20:22:03 GMT

=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====

Hello all,

I'm pleased to announce the release of IPTraf 2.2.1

CHANGES

IPTraf 2.2 features improved logging, timeouts for idle TCP connection
entries in the IP traffic monitor, and better management of the network
interfaces' promiscuous flag, making IPTraf run better on bridges.

Release 2.2.1 now includes support for FDDI interfaces with Ethernet
encapsulation and DVB interfaces. Bug fixes include some screen damage
in some cases at the TCP and UDP filter editing dialogs, and a bug in
which TCP and UDP filter entries containing an IP address of
255.255.255.255
were incorrectly interpreted as errors and ignored.

DESCRIPTION

IPTraf is an ncurses-based statistics utility for IP networks. It
generates various figures, including TCP connection statistics, network
interface packet and byte counts, network interface load figures, packet
and byte counts per TCP/UDP port, packet size breakdowns, and packet and
byte counts and loads per LAN station. This program is useful for
network monitoring, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.

RELEASE

Current release is 2.2.1. IPTraf can be obtained at

ftp://cebu.mozcom.com/pub/linux/net/iptraf-2.2.1.tar.gz
ftp://iptraf.seul.org/pub/iptraf/iptraf-2.2.1.tar.gz
ftp://metalab.unc.edu/pub/Linux/system/network/monitor/iptraf-2.2.1.tar.gz

As before, the tarball contains ready-to-run libc5 executable files,
which should work on most Linux distributions.

The IPTraf Web site is at http://cebu.mozcom.com/riker/iptraf/ and
http://iptraf.seul.org/.

For comments, suggestions, or questions, please feel free to mail me at
riker@seul.org.

Enjoy.

Regards,

Gerard

Quality First Software announces the new release of our log message
viewer qflog at

http://www.qfs.de/en/projects/qflog/index.html

New in Version 0.95.1:
======================

- - English manual
- - PDF versions of the manual
- - New chapter and demonstration program for quick introduction

If you have already got version 0.95.0, there is no need to
upgrade. You can find the English manual online at

http://www.qfs.de/en/projects/qflog/manual.html

and you can get the PDF files separately from the download page at

http://www.qfs.de/en/download.html#qflog

What is qflog ?
===============

qflog is a tool for browsing log messages that is tightly integrated
with the log package of our free Java library qflib[*]. It has support
for sorting, various kinds of filters, incremental search and
bookmarks.

Additionally qflog provides a graphical interface to control the
generation of log messages during the runtime of a program. To that
end qflog can either communicate with a program over RMI, or the
component for display and control of the messages can be integrated
directly into a program.

qflog comes with full source code and API reference and a manual in
English and German (HTML and PDF).

qflog is compatible with JDK 1.1, 1.2 and above.

From: Lawrence Greenfield <leg+@andrew.cmu.edu>
Subject: Cyrus imapd 1.6.24 released, enterprise IMAP server
Date: Thu, 25 May 2000 20:23:29 GMT

=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====

Hi,

I'm pleased to announce the release of Cyrus imapd 1.6.24. This is
primarily a bugfix release, though it does contain an upgraded Sieve,
complete with many new extensions.

IMAP is an internet standard-track protocol for remote mail access.
The Cyrus IMAP server is an enterprise-class IMAP server, meant to
scale from small workgroups up to large enterprises that functions in
a black-box sealed server---ordinary users are not expected to be able
to log into the server.

The Cyrus team here at CMU would especially like to thank Ken
Murchison (ken@oceana.com) for his help in making this release
possible. Most of the improvements are his; all of the bugs are mine.

Download Cyrus imapd at:
ftp://ftp.andrew.cmu.edu/pub/cyrus-mail/cyrus-imapd-1.6.24.tar.gz

Comments/bugs/etc to:
cyrus-bugs@andrew.cmu.edu
or to the info-cyrus mailing list (info-cyrus@andrew.cmu.edu).

This is almost certainly the last release of the 1.6 line, as we'll be
releasing Cyrus imapd 2.0 soon. We'll only release another 1.6 if
there turns out to be something fatally wrong with this release.

Thanks,
Larry Greenfield
