I want to share with all of you the availability of
a free File Manager that I am using now for almost 4 years,
and that has just been accessible on Internet,
It has been developped by Nam Duy Nguyen
Initially developped on OS/2, it was ported one year ago to Windows
then 6 months ago to Linux. and it is free.
This is a text mode File Manager that probably will interest most of
the people that prefer productivity to PM tools that are icon-oriented.
Have a look to http://filemanager.free.fr
for a list of all supported features

Subject: web2ldap.py 0.6.5: WWW gateway for accessing LDAP servers
Date: Wed, 26 Jan 2000 20:45:29 GMT
=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====
HI!
I would like to announce a new version of web2ldap, a full-featured
LDAPv2 client written in Python designed to run as a CGI-BIN under
the control of a WWW server.
It's available for free (GPL) from
http://www.web2ldap.de/
There's a demo running on:
http://sites.inka.de/ms/cgi-bin/web2ldap.py
I would like to encourage people to give feedback about the
usability of this program.
Ciao, Michael.
Changes since 0.6.4:
- - Omnipresent button bar throughout the whole UI now
(including error messages).
- - Implemented modrdn.
- - Direct input of LDIF data possible during adding
or modifying entries.
- - Display attributes of entry according to the schema categories
(required, allowed, not matching).
- - Display entries with HTML template files.
- - HTML clean-up to be hopefully SGML-conform (and friendly to
browsers).
- - ID params in important HTML tags for using CSS.
- - Configuration parameters for complete <BODY> tag.
- - Configuration parameters for string placed in <HEAD></HEAD>
section
(suitable for placing <STYLE> tags).
- - Minor bugfixing and code cleaning.

Subject: blackhome-0.2.3 - blackbox WM theme (un)installer
Date: Wed, 26 Jan 2000 21:09:21 GMT
=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====
Blackhome-0.2.3: a blackbox WM theme (un)installer and desktop design tool
for integrating apps and themes.
Requirements: blackbox (untested with 0.49.x; 0.50.2 up - tested to
0.51.2); GNU bash.
Blackhome provides a way to use blackbox themes with associated default
resource file sets for customisation of applications; each theme has its
own specific application resources, extending the theme concept to allow
individual applications to be 'themed'.
A utility is included to enable easy installation of blackbox themes and
images/pixmaps; uninstallation of these is supported via menu buttons.
Default resource files for some commonly-used applications are generated
automatically by the install utility; these can be customised to taste.
Colour resources are easily handled without manual editing of resource
files with the new resourceFileEditor, an application to assist you in
harmonising colours in your apps with those in your themes. Supports fuzzy
/ exact find-and-replace and undo. Find things vaguely dark red and
replace effortlessly with shades of lime green!
The generation of X applications' resource files for themes can be easily
modified to enable more applications to be supported, or for unwanted
support to be removed.
Two themes are provided as examples, 'alpha 'and 'omega'.

so far, believe it or not), but it's still fun to play. It represents the
last release in this series before I tweak the engine one final time to
fully support tracks generated in Blender[1].

XRacer requires Linux 2.x and a supported 3D accelerator card. A joystick is
highly recommended. The code is released under the GNU General Public

and follow the links to the Linux pages. As usual, you can always
download the latest version of the FAQ in text, HTML, and SGML
from its home site, mainmatter.com:

Of course, feedback and suggestions are always welcome, any time.

Subject: ftpd-BSD-0.3.0 - Linux port of OpenBSD's ftpd
Date: Wed, 26 Jan 2000 21:07:01 GMT
=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====
- -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
ftpd-BSD-0.3.0 (fifth release of ftpd-BSD)
This is a Linux port of the ftp server (ftpd) from OpenBSD (the
version number of the OpenBSD version is 6.4 and the version number of
this port is 0.3.0 - fifth public release of it).
This server is not as featureful as wu-ftpd but it has the advantage
of being smaller and (presumably) safer. As there have been some
possible security issues with both wu-ftpd and proftpd, this is one
possible alternative.
Version 0.3.0 sync'ed up with the status of the OpenBSD CVS tree as of
2000/01/23. Its main addition is IPv6 support. Furthermore, thanks
to Arun Bhalla, there is now support for shadow passwords (for those
who can't use PAM or don't want to) in the Linux port. It requires
glibc version 2.1 at least. This version might be unstable, because
porting the IPv6 part wasn't completely obvious, and, besides, that
support might not have been completely stable in the first place. It
certainly isn't well tested. The less adventurous (or those with
glibc 2.0 or older) might prefer version 0.2.3, which by now is rather
well tested.
You can find the tarballs and RPMs at the following URLs:

I have retained the original BSD copyright. To make things clear, all
praise should go to the OpenBSD people, and all blame (for example if
I broke something while porting the stuff) to myself.
