VMatik BBS software v0.2.0 for Linux has been released
(20.Jan.2000) under GNU General Public License.
Remember BBS softwares, anyone? ;) VMatik is one of those,
with no fancy gfx interfaces, no trendy sounds and bleeps.
VMatik is designed for running large BBS systems, having tens
of thousands of files, hundreds of users, etc. The requirements
are tried to be met by using external SQL server for all
database handling.
Changes since last release
==========================
- Enhanced security.
- Overall source & documentation cleanup
- Fixed some small bugs, changed install routines.
- Now developed using MySQL v3.22.25 RPM version and 2.2.x kernel.
- Files are now physically deleted with "K" command!
- "utils/filebackup" was broken, fixed. Added randomize area order
option. Default is now "sequential access". Config file stating
the area where we left last time is kept in the program running
directory.
- "utils/adopter" added directories and nonstandard files to the
filelist. Fixed.
- Added filecommand option "online" which affects only online
files. It means 'not offline'. Perhaps there should be a
keyword like not to negate any option.
