Subject: simpleproxy-3.0 - a simple TCP proxy
Date: Tue, 21 Dec 1999 23:45:37 GMT

=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====

Hi!

I just released new stable version of simpleproxy application after one
year in beta.

Simpleproxy program acts as simple tcp proxy. It listens for local socket,
and any connection to this port will be forwarded to another socket at
remote host.

Also while proxying POP3 connections it could allow only certain users to
go through it.

It could use https proxy server to access internet when located inside
firewall.

download: http://www.sourceforge.net/project/filelist.php?form_grp=604

alternative download ftp://ftp.crocodile.org/pub/

Sincerely,
Vadim

=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====

Yoke Linux Kernel Driver v 0.3.3

        Transparant Hotswappable Mirror

This is a "union block device". You can bind any two block devices
together anyhow, anytime, and they'll start mirroring each other.
Access to the block devices is maintained throughout, hence the
"transparant" in the description.

It's a kernel module generated against 2.2.10 but should be fine
against any 2.2.1*. No kernel patch is required. A manager tool
is provided.

You will find an archive at:

- - - ftp://oboe.it.uc3m.es/pub/Programs/yoke-0.3.3.tgz

The CVS tree is currently behind, but I will get it up to date soon.
The CVS HTTP page also has a fair bit of history and notes on it:

- - - http://www.it.uc3m.es/~ptb/cgi-bin/cvs-yoke.cgi

New in 0.3.3:

   * Working in 2.2.* for the first time. The mechanics had to be
rethought from the 2.0.* kernel versions.

Disclaimer: the device is still experimental. It's only received
anywhere near extensive testing on loopback and scsi and nbd devices
(but then who needs anything else ...). So be alert. Substitute the
warning of your choice here. The principle of operation is simple and
well understood but it is possible that untested devices may conspire to
fool it by grunging their request queue in nonstandard ways. Run them
through loopback! I'd appreciate feedback from smp people as I only
have uniprocessors available for testing.

Subject: Fsys.ext2 (for QNX 4)
Date: Tue, 21 Dec 1999 23:49:34 GMT

=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====

Ok folks, new version of Fsys.ext2 (formerly Fsys.linux)
is now available at ftp.parse.com (pub/ext2fs/Fsys.ext2.gz)

You should be able to:
        cd
        cat
        cp
        ls
        df (bogus values, though)

etc.

I know for sure that rewinddir and lseek do not work yet (I have them
commented out for just now).

Multiple type 131 partitions aren't detected properly -- QSSL should
really be the ones to fix this (i.e. /dev/hd0t131-1, /dev/hd0t131-2,
etc.) but I'll hack it in one of the next upcoming versions.

I'm not sure how to handle filenames greater than 48 characters;
anyone have suggestions? Currently I just truncate the name to
48 characters, but the problem is that the truncated name can't
be found by things like open() or stat(), etc. I can't pass the
longer name 'cause things sigsegv :-(

Anyone know how to get the info that "df" wants from an EXT2
partition?

A Neutrino version shouldn't be that hard to do :-)

Cheers,
- -RK

=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====

                 << MidiShare for Linux >>

MidiShare is a musical operating system designed for the Macintosh, Windows
3.1, Windows 95, Atari and Linux. Result of many years of research and
development undertaken by the Computer Music Research Laboratory of Grame,
MidiShare provides high level services to the field of computer music and
MIDI applications. It is freely available to users and developers.

A first release of MidiShare for Linux is publicly available on the Grame
ftp server. This version is built using the LGPL published MidiShare source
code.

MidiShare on Linux is separated in a kernel module and a shared library.
The kernel module contains the code used with kernel privilege : scheduler,
Midi drivers, Inter Application Communication... The shared library
contains code used by MidiShare client applications. The library and kernel
communicate using the standard ioctl mechanisms.

This first version is distributed as source code and has to be compiled and
installed.
There are two possible compilation targets :

- - one without drivers which allows to test MidiShare applications, Inter
Application Communication.
- - one with Midi drivers built using ALSA low-levels Midi drivers
(http://www.alsa-project.org)

The source code of MidiShare for Linux is located on the Grame ftp server at:
ftp://www.grame.fr/pub/midishare-kernel/midishare-linux.tar.gz

The source code of the Player library for Linux is located on the ftp
server at:
ftp://www.grame.fr/pub/midishare-lib/player-linux.tar.gz

Several simple MidiShare applications are available as a separate file at:
ftp://www.grame.fr/pub/MidiShare/Linux/Applications/MDK.tar.gz

For interested developers, the MidiShare Linux source code is available on
the Grame CVS server. Look at http://www.grame.fr/MidiShare/SCPP/.
