Since this whole Sweethearts thing started with someone going to my chapters
formal, I thought I would quickly explain what Sweetheart is.
Each semester there is a male and female Sweetheart, which is awarded at the
formal by the Sweethearts of the previous semester. The male brothers vote on
the female sweetheart and the female brothers vote on the male sweetheart. This
voting is done in separate rooms a few weeks prior to the formal. Each group
starts with nominations, and then (at least with the females) we do secret
ballot to narrow the nominees down to 3. We then do a secret ballot vote again
to get the winner, but nobody except for the people counting ballots knows the
winner until the formal.
The Sweetheart is basically someone who is very friendly, very warm, and does a
lot for the chapter. In our chapter it's really a big deal.
Well, I hope that cleared up some questions...
