Count yourself lucky in some ways, the Dean of Student Affairs could
feel that way. I have 3 schools in my section where if the APO
chapter passed out Condoms to passing Students it might lead to punitive
action against the chapter. (Georgetown, Catholic U. of America, and
Loyola of Baltimore) The brothers at these chapters know this so there is
little chance of them doing it.

In most cases the "gown" side of the town vs. gown conflict tends
to be more "liberal".

I believe that I remember a situation about one chapter that participated
in a multi-culturalism day at their school that was protested by the Klan.
This was driven home to me when in the middle of a flame war on a newsgroup
someone told me that I should even have the right to breathe. Every thing
that you (and your chapter) do had the possibility of annoying someone.
The point of when is Political, too Political is always a difficult one.
If the majority of a chapter wants to do something that others view
as too political, then perhaps the answer is simply to do it as a group
of individuals who happen all to be brothers.

I would be very surprized at that simply because it would be a real pain to
enforce and would be very easy to take a legal crack at.
There are however people on APO-L better able to answer this question.
