Greetings my fellow brothers:
It is now 12:48am EST time as I write this letter. I wanted to
speak of a precept of our order, Friendship. To me there is no better
expression of our Brotherhood/Sisterhood than the friends we make in this
organization. In fact, there is no better expression, but the obvious
committment to service.
This past weekend my Big came up, it was Homecoming Weekend. I
loved having her as my Big. She was a senior and I was a freshman. We
did a lot of things together. (nothing sexual for you perverts of the
group.) But nonetheless, we went our separate ways as she graduated from
college and went to med school and got married. I miss her.
But when she was there this weekend, I was happy to see not only
her, but see my Little with the same excitement I had when I was pledging
My Big took one look at my Little and said "Now I am a Grand Big" even
more impressive was the fact that My Big's Big was there thus she saw
her Great Grand Little. I felt proud.
But, why do I share with you this love of friendship, because
whether or not the members of Alcorn State are official, we should
recognize they must want to be a part of our fraternity once again.
Now is not the time to build the wall, but to tear it down. Let's find
out what and why this happened, let's talk with the adminstration of the
college, let's offer them guidance and service. Isn't that what we are
for.
In Friendship Foremost,
Hayim Seth Weiss
