Val, brothers, ... the (a) is for clarification
Ok, what about the people who simple lack the motivation to serve for a
semester. Even is we require book exchange hours, what if a brother(a) decides
that since so-and-so has so many more hours than he really needs, that he,
brother(a), doesn't need to show up at a service project or two. And then
so-and-so get lots of hours at the two projects that brother(a) doesn't go to,
that brother(a) can skip a few more...see a trend forming here. I don't think
that you, or anyone else in APO really feels this way, we're all in to serve.
But we all have bad days, and once an idiosyncracy forms, it's hard to stop.
btw, I brought up this idea at our service committee tonite. just as an idea to
throw around, explore a little bit. One of the brothers said that somewhere in
the national by-laws is a requirement for a certain number of hours. So i think
there'e a lot of work ahead for the idea you've proposed. Talk to you later
