Those of us living close to San Jose tend to get a little upset when we're
not mentioned as one of CA's major cities. We're only 45 miles south of
San Francisco and have a local chapter at San Jose State U. (and I belive
there's another one close by at Stanford).

Most importantly, San Jose is not as "touristy" as San Fransisco. Food,
lodging, and convention facilities will be less expensive, and San Jose
International Airport is much more laid back and easy to get to than SFO
(parking is even free for the first 1/2 hour!). All in all, I'd strongly
recommend San Jose instead of San Fransisco (or LA) for many practical and
logistical reasons.

I don't mean to put our brothers at SJSU on the spot; as a local resident,
I just wanted to point out another viable possibility for the convention.
